Had been busy lately. Doing a lot of writing here in there. I did a lot of writing but not writing novels. I write for a living and I do all kinds of writing. But I wish I could just focus on writing novels. Nevertheless this is for the better as I get inspiration in writing from all the other fields of disciplines that I write on.
My second novel is a much more darker one. I wish I could write something that is more light, some sort of a drama comedy, but it seems my inspiration comes from writing stories on dark romance. To some extent my first novel, Letters for Karina was sort of semi-dark if there is ever such a word.
I wanted to spend time marketing my first novel more before writing another one, but it seems I am a writer at heart and not a marketer, hence I have this itch to write. I hope I will have the patience to write to literary agents and wait for my work to be publish through a literary agent instead of doing self publishing. My first novel was self published, because I was very excited to see my first novel done and finally in book form. It was something that I regretted as my job did not end there. I have to promote the book. I hate marketing, I just want to write. So hopefully my second novel will be published through a literary agent and a traditional publishing house where they take care of all the marketing among other things.
I have preliminarily entitled my second novel “The Minister’s mistress.” Basing on the title alone, you will all probably have an idea on what it is all about. But aside from the dark romance in the story, I intend to give readers a sneak peak into the world of a certain religious Christian denomination. (This is not the final cover by the way but feel free to comment :-))
Aside from planning to have it published through a literary agent, my second work will be much more different as this time it will be a novel (as opposed to my first work which is a novella) Further this time, it will be written just like most novel’s point of view – from the third person.
So watch out for this one ! One can’t force creativity, but I am setting a deadline to finish this, to get things done considering Murphy’s law 😀 I target to finish before 2020 ends. Besides, the deadline is always the ultimate inspiration.
